Venta Ya came from a scene we saw hundreds of times: a business with great products sending the same twelve photos to every customer who writes in, one by one, with the price in a separate message.
Why a catalog and not a website
Most small businesses in Medellín don't sell through a website. They sell through WhatsApp. But WhatsApp has no good way to show thirty products with prices, and WhatsApp Business catalogs are slow to build and hard to share outside the chat.
A Venta Ya catalog is a single file that opens on any phone, shows your products with photos and prices, and puts a button on each one that opens your WhatsApp with the order already written. That's what most businesses actually need from a “website,” and it costs nothing.
Who's behind it
Venta Ya is a product of webmedellin.co, a web design studio in Medellín operated by Scout Theory LLC. We build fixed-price websites for local businesses, and we noticed that a lot of the people writing to us didn't need a full website yet. They needed this.
How it stays free
The editor and the catalog are free and will stay that way. We charge for two optional things: hosting your catalog at its own web address (one-time payment, no monthly fee) and, once the business grows, building it a full website. No commission on orders, no ads inside your catalog.
What we don't do
- We don't store your photos or prices. The editor runs inside your browser.
- We don't charge monthly fees for anything.
- We don't make up reviews or numbers. If you see a number on this site, it's real or it isn't there.
A note on language
The editor and the catalogs your customers see are in Spanish, because they're built for selling to customers in Colombia. If you can fill out a form, you can use it, and you can always ask us in English.
