Privacy and data handling

1. Who is responsible

Venta Ya is operated by Scout Theory LLC, operating in Medellín, Colombia. For any question, complaint or request about your data, message us on WhatsApp at +1 614 607 1230. That's our channel for exercising your rights.

2. The free editor: your catalog never leaves your browser

Everything you enter in the editor (business name, WhatsApp number, address, hours, products, prices, photos and logo) is processed only inside your browser. It isn't sent to our servers or to third parties. The file you download is generated on your device.

So you don't lose your work if you close the tab, the editor saves a draft in your browser's local storage. That draft lives only on your device, we can't see it, and you can delete it with “Empezar de nuevo” (start over) or by clearing your browser data.

Like the rest of this site, the editor page uses Google Analytics to count visits (see section 8). What you type into the editor is never sent to Google Analytics.

3. The file you download

The catalog is an HTML file containing what you wrote, your compressed photos and your WhatsApp number. Anyone you share it with can see that information. Only include what you want to make public.

4. Hosted-plan waitlist

The hosted plan isn't available yet. If you join the waitlist (in the editor or on the contact page), we receive the business name and WhatsApp number you type in, the number of products and the business category of the catalog you're editing (only when you join from the editor), and technical context: the page you joined from, the page you first landed on, any campaign tags in the link that brought you, your browser's language and user agent.

It's stored in a Google spreadsheet that only we can access. We use it for one thing: to message you when the hosted plan launches. We don't share it or use it for advertising. You can ask us to delete it at any time on WhatsApp.

5. The hosted plan: what we store and why

If you buy the hosted plan, we publish your catalog at a web address. To do that, we store exactly this:

Two counters: how many times the catalog was opened and how many times someone tapped “Order”	The stats we show you. They're totals only; we don't store who, from where, or on what device
Date, amount and reference of your payment	For support and refunds

Where: on Cloudflare's infrastructure, which may store data on servers outside Colombia. By buying the hosted plan you authorize that international transfer, which is necessary to provide the service.

How long: as long as your catalog is published. If 24 months pass with no edits or visits, we'll message you on WhatsApp and, if you don't reply within 30 days, we delete the catalog and all its data. We also delete it whenever you ask.

How visits are counted: the counters work without cookies. We don't identify the people who open your catalog.

6. What we never store

• Your customers. When someone builds an order in your catalog, their name, address and order go straight from their phone to your WhatsApp. Venta Ya isn't in that path and doesn't see that data, on either the free or the hosted plan.
• Screenshots of payment receipts. Payments are confirmed in the payment app and not kept.
• Your ID number, email address or bank details.
• Visitor IP addresses beyond Cloudflare's technical logs, which delete themselves within 24 hours.

7. Payments

Hosted-plan payments are received by Nequi, bank transfer, or card through a payment processor. Each of those services handles your data under its own policy. We only keep the date, amount and reference.

8. Third-party services

• Google Analytics: measures visits to this site's pages (including the editor page) and uses cookies to do it. It doesn't receive what you type into the editor.
• Google Sheets: stores the hosted-plan waitlist (section 4).
• Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com): the site and the catalogs load fonts from there. Google may log the IP address making that request.
• WhatsApp (wa.me): the order buttons open a chat in WhatsApp, a Meta service.
• Cloudflare: hosts hosted-plan catalogs.

9. Your rights

Under Ley 1581 de 2012, you can access, update, correct and delete the data we hold about you, and revoke the authorization you gave us. Message us on WhatsApp. We answer inquiries within 10 business days and complaints within 15 business days, counted from the day after we receive your message. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can go to the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio.

Since we don't store your data when you use the editor for free, in practice these rights apply to the waitlist, the hosted plan, and WhatsApp conversations.

10. Authorization

By sending the waitlist form, you authorize us to handle the data in section 4 for the purpose described there. When you buy the hosted plan, we ask for express authorization, with a checkbox, to handle the data in section 5 for the purposes described. We don't handle sensitive data or ask for more than what appears in those sections.

11. Minors

Venta Ya is meant for adults running a business. We don't knowingly collect data from minors.

12. If you message us on WhatsApp

We keep the conversation so we can help you. We don't share your number with third parties or use it to send you unsolicited advertising.

13. Changes

If this policy changes, we update the date below. Changes that affect the hosted plan are announced on WhatsApp to everyone who has it.
